Welcome Back To Dean Holland Dot Com... Be Sure To Look Around And Get Involved In The Discussions Going On!
Hey peeps,
I believe this is the most important post I have ever written and hope those which it applies to take help from it
** WARNING **
This post contains hard hitting and extremely helpful advice
If you are feeling stuck then read EVERY single word
My aim is to help YOU
Do NOT take offence – Take ACTION !!
Just recently I have done quite a lot of blog hopping around the blogs of fellow students of Alex Jeffrey’s coaching course. To my disappointment it seems a LOT have lost their passion for success. The drive that I could sense only weeks ago just doesn’t seem to be there, many have not even posted to their blogs for many weeks !!
Although you always have to expect that some will not continue with the skills they learn it is still upsetting to see as every one of the 500 students has been given the same information and the same chances to build a success online business. Well I want to help, I want to turn things around for those that are watching there initial efforts wash away !!
First off we need to address why this is happening, can I just say to begin with if you are reading this and you are one of those that has lost a bit of your ‘sparkle’ please come forward… Don’t allow it to happen, there are many of us here to advise and help you. Help us to help you !
Here’s my 2 cents on what’s occurring ….
The main reason I think some may be losing interest is the lack of results showing. Ok, fair enough but why ?? I have read a lot stating they are seeing no traffic to their blogs, in answer to that I would be very interested to know exactly what those people are doing to drive traffic. We have all been taught to visit other blogs and comment on them giving value, we have also been told to join in on forums in our niche. I have recommended many times for everyone to join the Warrior Forum and with VERY good reason, let me reveal something I have never let out before … In around 4 months that my blog has been running I have had 10′s of thousands of visits and get this, the Warrior Forum accounts for around 15% of that traffic !! Do you see how MASSIVE the impact of this 1 site is having on my blog ?? And remember this is all highly targeted traffic, so how do I do it ? Simple, you join for free and you submit helpful threads.. Easy right ?!
Ok, you may think you have nothing to write about… Being fair to all maybe at this exact moment you don’t but that doesn’t mean do nothing.. Read other peoples threads and post comments on them, there are literally 100′s of thousands of value packed threads in this single forum. Take advantage of it, learn from it and eventually you will profit from it !
A bit of advice, the Warrior Forum is all about building a reputation for yourself so don’t just blast out new threads for the sake of trying to get traffic. But your threads can be very simple, tell people about your experiences, share what you are doing, inform others about what is or isn’t working for you…. You get the idea.
I know I may be giving a lot of emphasis on just this 1 forum but it has SO much POWER in the IM world, once you learn to harness it you can make it VERY profitable over the long term. Yes I know many of you reading this may know all this already but this is aimed at those that seem to have gone quiet over recent weeks and need that extra bit of guidance. If you haven’t already go join at www.WarriorForum.com and start taking part REGULARLY, remember this 1 single tactic has sent 1000′s of visitors to my blog in just a few months !!
So there, I’ve addressed with one simple tactic how to resolve a lack of traffic to your blog, I challenge anyone to use the Warrior Forum properly and consistently and not get traffic… It wont happen, just have a signature that has a link back to you blog and you WILL see results !
Let’s move on….
I would also stick my neck out and say some students may be disheartened by not earning money yet, I cannot push this enough… Forget the money, focus on building a business and helping others. Money will come to you !! Here’s an example – Lets say someone that wants to start a blog finds your site… They read your posts and in those posts you have offered advice on how you built your blog, ok now they see you as someone to listen to and the person that can help them start their own blog !! Then they look and you have a resource page that tells them the services you personally use ( i.e- Hosting ) Voila… you make money ! That’s how it can work but that wont happen unless you are providing the help and information to begin with ! It is going to take time, but consistency is the key to success.
From personal experience I know for a lot of you that time or lack of it is a factor of less work online. Everyone’s circumstances are different but everyone if they really want to can put in some commitment to grow their business… Lack of time is not an excuse, it is a restraint… Something to work around. I have actually just come across a free tool online that you can use that will help you with time management, I only just found this today so have not put it to use yet.
It is called ‘Your day in a pie chart’ and what you basically do is to enter the activities you do in a day along with the amount of hours you spend doing them. This will then show you the amount of hours you have left in a day, I believe it will then also tell you how many hours in the year you take up and have spare but just focus on the daily chart. I suggest entering the hours you work in your job, the hours you sleep and any other key daily activities. If this shows you have 1 hour spare then that is what you should put into your business, if it shows 3 hours even better. If it shows you really have no hours left in a day then assess what activity you could reduce by an hour so you can give at least that.
http://www.numbercrunched.com/time.html
My personal thought is you would want to be dedicating at least 7-10 hours a week to growing your business but whatever it is you can do just be consistent with your efforts. I know you may have heard this before but do not allow distractions to take you away from the work you should be doing, this is even more critical if you don’t have much time to give !
After my blog travels I feel strongly that now is the time where peeps will either flourish or fall … The only reason to fall is if you allow that to happen !
Think back 2 months, remember how your mindset was then ?! In fact go back to your very own first ever blog post, read every word of it.. What do you think ?
Have you lost your sparkle, do you really want to let this opportunity pass you by ?? There are people that would of done ANYTHING to get on the coaching with Alex that we are in, so what are you gunna do with it ??
If I were to sit here and beg you to work to become a success it would not work unless you want it to happen… And believe me you have to REALLY want it because it is going to take much more effort and time than you have given it so far.
I remember throughout 2007 and 2008 ‘DREAMING’ about the internet lifestyle and I had this big DREAM about how I could work online full time and be my own boss….. Now we are in 2009 and that dream is now a GOAL, a goal to work to and reach !
Do you DREAM, or do you have GOALS ??
I don’t know how many of the initial 500 are left and willing, but if you are one of those lucky ones I want nothing more than to see you succeed online. If I can help in any way at all then please PLEASE either post a comment here or contact me through my contact form. Do not sit and wonder ‘what if’, come forward and claim your place now !
2009 …. Our year to shine
Together all of us can have what we want

Hi Dean
Great post. You’re right.
I was never really interested in promoting internet marketing hence why I get less traffic on this blog than I do on my other site I just got finished http://www.amindbodyandspirit.com
Thanks for the kick in the ass.

Well Dean
You coaxed me out of my hiding place. Seems that camel of mine at my blogsite is still wandering around aimlessly in the desert.Hmmm, maybe I should post something powerful and blow the socks off this thing. OK – a sock might do it or should I choose the rocket or should I just PROCRASTINATE?
Thanks
You truly are a good buddy to have around.

“Forget the money, focus on building a business and helping others. Money will come to you !!”
That is so true my friend. We have to give first before you receive. We can build The List when we stick to our plan. Help others and others will be attracted to you and eventually “help” you.
Thats just common sense, even if you dont believe all those New Age Law of Attraction hoo haa.
But, its easier said than done.
I guess it all boils down to our WHY. Why do I want to make a living online? Why do I need to be successful? Why do need to make this work?
2 years ago my WHY is as strong as a wet spagetti. But I come to realise that I need to just shut up, stop thingking too much, and focus on the things to do next. Each small purposeful step will bring me closer to my goal.
And with you leading by example Dean, my journey just got easier. Btw, good post.
Dont lose heart people! Stay the course.

Hi Dean,
Awesome post dude and you are correct. I think there are quite a few that will be dropping out soon. Actually, I am surprised that it hasn’t happened sooner. As we say in the construction business “You’ll have that.”
There is one thing that really bothers me. I here people saying that they are not having the results that they should and even saying that Alex has not delivered. It all sounds like whining to me. First of all, the coaching is not finished yet! Do you not remember that 6 hour brainstorming marathon that we had?
I have a couple questions for everyone who is having lack luster results. Did you read “List Building With Alex”? Did you watch the videos that are the upsell? Are you participating in JV Giveaways to build your list?
I can answer the last one. There are a hand full of students that are taking Alex’s advice and applying it the way he says. I know that he has had us doing the oil rig hopping and the video marketing but that is just so we learn how to do it.
When we downloaded our Profit Pulling Platform, the instructions said to download the ebook and read it before we did anything else. I met with Alex last Friday in person and he re-enforced what he has been saying all along. “The most important thing in the beginning is to build your list.”
I started participating in JV Giveaways the day after I read “List Building With Alex” and since then have added 809 subscribers to my list of which 592 are verified and have not opted out. I am about to launch my first ebook which I am going to give away to build my list and probably make a little cash from some affiliate links.
Dean, I believe that you said you made about $500 when you launched your ebook. Any one of the Fortunate 500 could do this. You just have to do it. I do agree that the contests were a major distraction but Alex was just trying to get people to take action.
I made a post on my blog about how I had become obsessed with winning the SEO competition. I was “chasing the money”. Those stupid contests delayed the launching of my ebook. The traffic to my blog also dropped off because I wasn’t oil rig hopping.
Ok here it is, “I didn’t stick to my plan!” Make your plan and take action. Build your list the way that Alex has shown you. The next module with Andrew Fox is going to be awesome. I have his product “Affiliate X Factor” and it is all about what he is going to show us on Monday.
How to write emails to your list and build a relationship. For all of you that are considering giving up. Don’t do it. There will be some success stories that emerge from this coaching class and you can be one of them. If you don’t believe that then you have doomed yourself to failure already.

Dean,
Excellent post! Um, not too much more of that OK? The Gazz-Man does this sh*t for the PEEPS. OK?
ONLY KIDDING!
There are a lot of very good comments here. I read each and every one of them. I was actually here yesterday and was 2/3rds down the comments when I had to go out for a while and when I came back good old Microsoft had done its annoying update and re-start thingy. That really p155es me off. Anyway, I want to re-iterate what you and JT said just above. HANG IN THERE PEEPS!
As I said a few days ago:
This is the LEARNING phase not the EARNING phase.
Some of you want to do a Usain Bolt before you can crawl properly. Be reasonable with your expectations.
I can’t believe some of the comments that some people are making around the place. To all those who are whining about NOT making any money yet – just think about this:
Many people borrow several hundred thousand dollars to buy a conventional business – say a newsagency. By the time they make monthly repayments on principal and interest, public liability insurance, advertising, a dozen premiums for all sorts of other insurance (including the never ending procession of “DONGBEATERS” who want to come into your store and deliberately trip over to “injure” themselves and scam you), stock, employee wages, water rates, water usage, electricity, gas, shire rates and fees, etc, etc, etc – HOW MUCH do you have left from what comes INTO your cash register?
NOT TOO BLOODY MUCH! I know.
I have had some of these businesses and it is like sending a jet-stream of water (cash) into one end of a hose – and along the way everyone gets to jab a dart into your hose and drain some of that water (cash) out. By the time you get to the end of the hose – YOUR end – all that is left is a pathetic dribble.
The whingeing is all because many people are NOT seeing the cash register ringing. But what is your investment? A couple of hundred dollars – OH – OK, a thousand dollars maybe.
Compare that to several hundred thousand dollars in a conventional business. Then you also have to worry about w*nk*rs stealing from you and vandalising your property. Do you have that in your online venture? NO. You don’t.
Give it a chance PEEPS! Just give it a chance. You need to get your HEAD right. Stop being neggy about all this. It’s gonna take time. How long does it take to give birth to a baby? HUH? After three months, can you say, “oh it’s taking way too long! I’m quitting!” huh?
No you can’t.
Treat this as the birth of your business baby.
Come and have a look at my Motivational Video. It takes 2 minutes. Do you have that much time to invest? 2 minutes? Oh, I guess for some that would be too much to ask. It took me 8 hours to make it. That’s 480 minutes. That’s 240 times longer than it takes to watch it. And you’ll get to see me do something ridiculous at the end of it.
Well done Dean. You have done well here. Sorry if you think I have come in and slapped people around too hard.
Come on PEEPS! Rally. Let’s move on. All this “boo-hoo” stuff is gonna get you a big fat NOWHERE! What are you gonna do? Move onto the next “boo-hoo” venture? You know that I am right.
Watch my video. It’s for YOU!

Hi Dean,
Wow, I’ve just read your post and all 57 comments with interest. You never fail to amaze me with your commitment not only to your business but helping the rest of us.
It seems like so long ago now when you were sending me god knows how many emails in a day just to help me get my blog up and running.
Right, I will use this post as a confession, I have not managed to keep up the momentom and I am not about to shift the blame onto anyone but myself. I am not going to make excuses but I have had to make the decision to slow down because I have to balance running my home and my kids. If I start failing with the later the business is pointless.
This doesn’t mean I no longer have the comitment, I just have to go at my own speed.
Also my problem has been staying awake for the webiars, now that might seem really lame but I just can’t stay awake! I admit I have got a bit annoyed at the length of time the webinars take to get to the members area. I also find that however great Alex’s webinars are he does have a tendancy to ramble. I can’t help feeling that the 4+ hrs could quite easily be condensed to 1 1/2-2 hrs. Although I love listening to him talk and find him motivational sometimes something more structured is needed.
Well, I thanks for letting me get that out. Hope I haven’t said anything out of line, I have enjoyed all parts of this journey and plan on enjoying the rest aswell!
Oh, 1 question. I have looked at these giveaway sites but I get really confused about how to join up and what I can use to give away as I have no products of my own yet. If anyone could help me with explaining this I would be soooo greatful!
Jeez I go on..sorry
Thanks again for being so inspirational.

Hiya, Dean!
Well timed, and well said!
And what a response! Thanks to everyone for adding their thoughts, and for demonstrating that we’re all in this together as well as each trying to make their own way. Keep on keeping on!
Best wishes,

Wow Dean,
That’s a pretty inspirational post. I wonder how many of the 2.0 students have lost the momentum, and I would love to know what the actual results are from people that actually follow their dreams and succeed.
I truly believe that there is no need for anyone to fail, it’s just a case of pushing forward, even through the tough times when you feel like you’re getting nowhere
Take care,
Paul

Cool post, Dean, honest and inspirational. Sadly too many people – me included – take a crack at IM believing the hype (hardly surprising because it is easy to get started, just hard to make it a real business!) and take a while to create modest, realistic goals for themselves. Takes time. And consistent – if not persistent – action!
