Yes my friend planning is key …. This is Exactly why I have not been on here to post in 3 weeks and is Vital to the development of any business.
You may have read a couple of weeks ago I challenged a good friend of mine and fellow marketer Dan Briffa to a contest. The contest was to make $2,000 in just 7 days online starting from scratch !!
$2,000 in 7 days ….. Really ?!
Ok, possibly a little out of our reach as new guys to the internet world but I like a challenge and it seemed like a good idea at the time 
So the result …. Well I failed ( Kind-of ) You see I came up with the idea of creating a set of tutorial videos then selling them with master resale rights. For some reason ( and Im not sure why ) they didnt sell with the Bang I expected.
Yes I did make a few hundred dollars but not close to the 2k I was aiming for …. So what about Dan ??
Well Dan came up with the idea of starting his own coaching program as he has had huge success on ebay so he decided to teach his skills. This idea however and the process of the launch would not enable Dan the make the cash in just 7 days however just yesterday Dan made in the region of $1,500 !!! WOW !!
Well done to him… Big time !!
Hands down he kicked my a$$ … However ….
This really wasnt about the money, do you see the real value in me challenging Dan ?? Just 7 days before the contest neither of us even had an idea … BUT we took massive ACTION !!
The contest side of things I admit was fun, but having the aim to achieve something from nothing was amazing.
Being honest it still puzzles me why the video set didnt hit 2k in sales, the feedback from those that did get it was excellent. The only thing I can think is that people did not know what to do with them so what I plan to do soon is to put up a site making use of the videos. I will show how not only can they give you an online business that will help people… I will build a list from them and make money too.
Watch out for that !!

This my friend is the BIG reason I have been playing away from my blog…. Another plan is in the pipeline !!
A plan that has materialised out of literally no-where but yet I anticipate ( with excitement ) this could very well be ‘ The One ‘ !! … By ‘ The One ‘ do you know what I mean ?? Well if you have followed me you will know my aim for 2009 right ??
Mapped out I project sales from this *plan* to be in the multiple 100′s of thousands of dollars !!!!

How will I do it …. What is the plan ??
Well how I will do it is by doing what I always have, by continuing with the single most thing that has took me from ground zero just 7-8 months ago to nearly $10,000 in online sales !

Yes you got it brothers and sisters …. Dean is building an empire to take you from complete newbie to where I am at right now. Of course many of you reading this will already be at the stage I am at and many well beyond me.
The fact is I now know how to make money on the internet, I know how to generate traffic and I know how to build an email list…. Basically I know how to set up an online business from nothing that can generate good amounts of money.
The time is approaching for me to let it ALL out….
The knowledge and the power is being crammed into one *Special* place for those that need it !!

Was a good challange we put on huh, but as you said, it was the time frame that made us took action and start planning a way to generate the sales from nothing.
It certainly got our brains ticking bro!
I am chuffed with the sales i have made so far, and i really dont know why your offer did not sell as well, because you had some really good content and the value was there… it’s just mind boggling really.
But it was a good effort anyway, and the point of it was to get us to take some action, which did it’s job in the end.
Anyway, from what i seen at the weekend, when you came over to see me, your new plans are gonna more than make up for it.
Im excited to see how this will turn out, i know its gonna be BIG!!

Sorry you bombed out on the challenge…at least you tried…well I did my bit to help… haven’t had a look at the vids yet…been a bit busy getting my blog up…I’m a bit behind you and need all the help I can get…I probably wont know what to do with the vids…so if you’re putting up a site then I’m sure to have a look…and this new next Big one has got me very curious…if it’s about you spilling your knowledge and every thing you know to date then it should be your springboard to getting going coaching wise.

i will never bail off your email list, as you are way more fun than any other.
And i was sure that you would crack the $2000 mark easily, but perhaps only one or two days late.
the product will work though. just repackage it.
within a couple of weeks i will finally be able to join you guys with a product that has launched. wish me luck.

Couldn’t have put it better myself Dean. Planning is the key.
And I tell you more, only recently I was brave enough to admit to myself that the reason why I am so deep into debt for my business is because I am failling miserably to plan.
I have paid a lot of money for some awesome training on IM. And I am talking about the likes of Rich Scheffren, Dan Kennedy, Jay Abraham, etc. Not talking about any scam or $27 ebook course.
To what value do you think they are to me if I don’t plan on how implement what I’ve learnt or still have to learn? NOTHING, ZERO NADICA DE NADA =>that was my brazilian coming out..
Just so all your reades and our fellow Alex Jeffreys understand how NOT do things and I am shouting very loud for them to listen to what you are saying here.
PLAN YOUR BUSINESS TO THE FINEST DETAIL. Even if you have to stop all that you are doing and it will push you forward like it did with you Dean.
Lot’s of love and looking forward to Vegas big time, it will also be my first time in the US.

Hey Dean,
I couldn’t agree more, planning is everything. Problem is sticking to that plan. You see, I’m about to re-write my plan for the 3rd time since AJ’s coaching program but that’s not a bad thing. At least I don’t think so.
I’m re-writing my plan because I’m doing better than I thought I would be at this time so I want to step it up. It just seems like I’m doing a lot more and getting better results and I’m working less. Isn’t that the whole idea?
I thought I read somewhere in my travels that you had just made a $300k plan. If that’s true I wish you all the best in reaching that goal. That’s awful ambitious but I know you can achieve it.

Hey Dean, I only recall hearing about your offer once, so maybe you need to promote it more aggresively, do you have an affiliate program yet?
I’d start an affiliate program with clickbank.com, so persons like me that can’t use paypal can join in on the fun(and profits).
Also i recommend you update your 2 free ebooks, the blog and traffic guides, and put an ad in there somewhere, maybe the 2nd or last page to promote the offer from the challenge.
You can send a quick email to let everyone that got the older versions to download the new versions with the advert, and some sort of branding tool along with a pre-done squeezepage(just bundle a copy of the page, or have the affiliate links point to your squeeze page).
i just think you did not promote it enough, but good job all the same, you now another product to sell.
i’m suprised that you haven’t setup an affiliate program yet.

From seeing both yours and Dan’s
e mails re the contest there was NO
winner in the time frame, so don’t
feel too bad.
I am in the process of writing my own
e book for which I am hoping to start
making some income at last. Probably
another 2 – 3 weeks before I get it finished.
Any suggestions about best place to get
a cover designed will be welcome.

Sorry you didn’t win the contest, but you’re right, it was a great idea and really had you and Dan taking action in a short time frame. That’s great that you both made some money within a week too!
You’ve been coming up with some great stuff!
I’ve been getting much better with planning lately. Planning is a definite MUST to making money online! You just can’t skip the “planning”, it won’t work.
What have I been up to? Well, John Bullard (another fellow Alex Jeffrey’s student) and I are working on our new e-Book, which will be really awesome especially for newbies. We should be launching within the next 3 – 4 weeks.
So, planning definitely gets you places faster than having no plan at all!

Hey Dean,
Nice book, good ideas for traffic generation. I am a big fan of free methods of driving targeted traffic. I have been using Google Alerts to show blogs I should comment too, I wrote how on my blog. Now with your eBook I have a couple more ideas for driving traffic to my sight.
